Gemini in Chrome: A Closer Look
Gemini in Chrome uses AI to provide users with personalized answers and tools within the browser. This feature has been integrated into a floating window, allowing users to access a range of tools, including scheduling meetings with Calendar, checking location details with Maps, and drafting and sending emails with Gmail.
Users can also utilize the Personal Intelligence feature of Gemini, which connects to services like Gmail and Google Photos, for personalized answers. Additionally, users can transform images on the web using Nano Banana 2 in the sidebar.
Availability and Testing
Gemini in Chrome is now available on both desktop and iOS in all of the new markets, except for Japan. The company's agentic feature, which can control the browser window to complete tasks on behalf of the user, is currently in testing and only available to users of AI Pro and AI Ultra paid plans in the US.
Google has been continuously expanding the capabilities of Gemini in Chrome since its launch last year. With this latest expansion, more users can benefit from the AI-powered tools and features within the Chrome browser.
