Google's Pixel 11 Lineup Focuses on Intelligent AI Features
Google's latest Pixel 11 series has been officially unveiled, and as expected, it's not a major departure from its predecessor in terms of design and internals. However, this year's devices have more Gemini features that make them even more intelligent and capable of completing tasks in the background.
Gemini Features Take Center Stage
The Pixel 11 series has a slew of new features powered by Gemini, including a live translation feature that works across content, a Wispr Flow-like transcription feature, and a new camera feature that captures the right frames. Gemini can also take care of tasks such as ordering groceries, booking rides, or getting coffee, making it a more agentic AI assistant.
For U.S.-based users, Gemini can even call businesses on their behalf for table reservations or appointments. Users can also take over or stop tasks at any point in time and review transcripts for AI-operated calls.
- The company has also evolved the "Magic Cue" feature to use Gemini, which proactively surfaces contextual information to help users find suggestions for things like a dinner spot or show.
Dictation Product Rambler Makes Its Way to Pixel Phones
Google has announced a dictation product called Rambler, which takes on competitors like Wispr Flow and Aqua. Rambler is now making its way to the Pixel phones, allowing users to dictate messages and emails with ease.
Other Handy Features
The new Pixel series phones have some other helpful features that might be handy for daily usage. For instance, the device can translate videos, podcasts, and voice messages in the target language. The company is also making its "Circle to Search" gesture-based feature available directly in the camera, similar to Apple's iOS 27.
- Google has also added an accessibility feature to the camera, which uses Gemini to translate sign language into text to help people communicate with others who have hearing impairments.
AI Tricks in the Camera
The company has embedded AI tricks into its camera, including a feature called "Magic Capture" that picks the best frames out of hundreds of frames it captures between when users press start and end. The idea is to take a video and get photos as a byproduct.
Hardware Upgrades
The Pixel 11 Pro phones have been upgraded with a faster capture feature called "Instant Night Sight," which takes 4.5x less time than the previous-gen phone's Night Sight. The Pro phones also get a super zoom upgrade from 100x to 120x, and from 20x to 30x for the base Pixel 11.
- The company has also added a "creator suite" mode in video settings, which lets users use Pixel 11 devices as a teleprompter while shooting clips.
Tensor G6 Processor
All the Pixel phones now run the latest Tensor G6 processor, which has 20% better power efficiency and allows for 25% faster browsing. The new image signal processing on the chip also enables 120x magic zoom on the Pixel 11 Pro XL.
Pricing and Availability
The Pixel 11 starts at $899, the 11 Pro starts at $1,099, and the 11 Pro XL starts at $1,299. The devices are available to pre-order starting today and will start with a base storage of 256GB.
