Google Vids Expands its Features for Enterprise Content Creation
Google's Vids app has received a significant update, incorporating new features aimed at enhancing its capabilities for enterprise content creation.
Google Vids, a video editor app, has been constantly evolving since its unveiling in 2024. The latest update adds several new features, including the ability to direct avatars through text prompts, support for Veo 3.1, and the option to export finished videos directly to YouTube.
"Users will be able to use natural language prompts to direct avatars to 'act' in a scene," Google stated. "This can include the avatar interacting with a product, a prop, or a piece of equipment." Despite the dynamic nature of the output, Vids maintains character consistency.
- Users can customize characters by tweaking appearance, changing apparel, and creating new backgrounds through prompts.
- The Veo 3.1 video-generation model can create eight-second clips within the video editing tool, with Google giving out 10 free generations per month to all users.
- Google AI Ultra and Workspace AI Ultra accounts can generate up to 1,000 Veo videos per month, making it an attractive feature for businesses and enterprises.
- The ability to export finished videos directly to YouTube saves the hassle of downloading and uploading them to the channel, with all exported videos defaulting to private.
- A new screen-recording Chrome extension is also being added to the video suite, allowing users to capture the screen with audio or video.
Google's Vids faces competition from other AI video creation tools like Synthesia, HeyGen, D-ID, and Lemon Slice. With its latest update, Google is solidifying its position in the market, catering to the growing demand for AI-powered video content creation.
