Instagram's Adam Mosseri Teases Major Updates to Your Algorithm Feature
Instagram is evolving its popular Your Algorithm feature to give users more control over their content experience.
Instagram's head Adam Mosseri has shared updates to the popular Your Algorithm feature, allowing users to customize their content experience. The updates aim to make Your Algorithm a central part of the app.
According to Mosseri, the new features include ways for users to access Your Algorithm from their feed by pulling down, and from Reels by swiping up. Additionally, buttons will be added beneath each Reel to indicate whether or not users want to see more Reels like it.
The goal, as Mosseri stated, is to 'evolve Your Algorithm from a setting to something that feels central to your experience on Instagram.' This means that users will be able to specify which topics they want to see more of, and less of, making the content they see more personalized.
Users have been requesting this feature, as evident from the popular comments on Mosseri's post. One user simply put it, 'WE JUST WANT OUR ALGORITHM TO SHOW THE PPL WE FOLLOW.'
Instagram launched Your Algorithm last year and has been introducing it to more areas of the app. These updates are a step in the right direction, giving users more control over their content experience and making the app more user-friendly.
