Nvidia Surpasses Record Revenue, Fueling Growth
Nvidia has announced a record revenue figure for the quarter ending April 26, with the company bringing in $81.6 billion in revenue, a 20% increase from the previous quarter. This surge in revenue is largely driven by the company's data center sales, which reached a record $75.2 billion.
"Our Blackwell architecture is everywhere, adopted and deployed by every major hyperscaler, every cloud provider, and every major model maker," said Nvidia CFO Colette Kress.
Projected Slowdown in Revenue Growth
Nvidia has forecasted a slowdown in revenue growth, projecting $91 billion in revenue for the next quarter, a 12% increase. This projection suggests that the company is expecting a slight decline in revenue growth, a trend that may be influenced by factors such as Chinese exports.
Nvidia's Holdings in Privately Held Companies Nearly Double
Nvidia's stakes in privately held companies have nearly doubled between January and April, reaching $43 billion. The company began the quarter with $22 billion in privately held stakes, but ended with $43 billion, driven primarily by $18.5 billion in purchases over the course of the quarter.
"We have yet to generate any revenue, and we are uncertain whether any imports will be allowed into [China]," said Kress.
Nvidia's Impact on the Industry
Nvidia's CFO Colette Kress emphasized the broad scope of the company's impact, including a pending buildout with Anthropic. "The amount of capacity we're going to bring online for Anthropic this year and next year is going to be quite significant," Huang told investors on a call.
- Nvidia's recent investment in publicly traded companies like Corning and IREN is not included in the figure.
- The company has committed to investing $30 billion in OpenAI in February, although the precise structure of the deal was not disclosed.
