Video Generation Startup PixVerse Raises $439 Million, Reaches $2 Billion Valuation
PixVerse, a Singapore-based video generation startup, has closed its Series C extension, raising a total of $439 million in funding. With this new tranche of funding, the company's valuation has crossed over $2 billion.
Expanding Offerings and Global Reach
The company aims to use the cash to expand its world model offering and reach customers across geographies. With the initial Series C round closed in March, led by CDH Investments, PixVerse has already established a presence in the market.
Investor Lineup and Product Rollout
Investors in the extension round include Alibaba, Lollapalooza Capital, Ivy Capital, Grand Mount Capital, Eastern Bell Capital, Mirae Asset, BlueFocus, and CloudAlpha, joining returning investors iGlobe Partners and OCBC's LionX Ventures. The company plans to launch a new V-series model for video generation and release a new version of its world model this year.
Ambitions and Competition
PixVerse has big ambitions this year, aiming to expand its enterprise outreach across the globe. With a deal with investor Alibaba to deploy video generation features, the company is confident in its products. However, the video market is heating up, with competitors like ByteDance, Midjourney, and Luma building world models.
Key Strengths and Hiring Plans
According to Jaden Xie, co-founder of PixVerse, the company's core strength lies in labeling. The startup plans to hire more researchers and people in the go-to-market function with the new funding. With 150 employees across offices in Singapore, Beijing, and Shanghai, PixVerse is poised for growth.

"We think the key difference is not in data, but how you label it, because data is available everywhere," Xie said. "My co-founder worked at ByteDance, where he built core visual understanding technology behind TikTok using AI. Using this tech, TikTok was able to label data accurately, and build a strong recommendation algorithm. This experience comes in handy when building a video generation platform.
