Custom Colors for Slate Auto's EV Trucks
Slate Auto, the EV startup backed by Jeff Bezos, has built its business around the idea of simplicity and customization. With a $24,950 unpainted gray electric truck as its base model, Slate lets buyers customize their vehicles through wraps, decals, lighting, and other accessories.
The company has now partnered with Crayola, the renowned crayon maker, to offer vehicle wraps in signature Crayola colors. The new Crayola-color wraps, which include Cerulean, Fern, Jersey Tomato, Razzmatazz, and Dandelion, will cost $1,549.99.
Each Crayola-color vehicle wrap comes with a matching key fob and "Slatelet," a custom art piece that snaps onto the dashboard. This is not Slate's only collaboration; the company is also working with NYC artist Max Kolo on a vehicle wrap.
Crayola's First Automotive Partnership
Anna Roca, head of global partnerships at Crayola, said this is the company's first automotive partnership. Slate Auto wouldn't disclose whether it's working with other companies like Crayola to offer more vehicle wrap designs, but a spokesperson hinted at future collaborations.
A Custom-Highway Path
Slate is still a newcomer in the automotive industry, emerging from stealth in April 2025. The company has yet to make its first deliveries but has started taking preorders for its two-seat truck, which can be modified into a five-seater SUV.
A Future of Collaborations
Considering Slate's custom-heavy path, it's easy to imagine a slew of design collaborations in the future. With its partnership with Crayola, Slate Auto is taking a step towards making its vehicles more personalized and visually appealing.
